The CAE Executive Director of the Montana Society of CPAs will share the narrative of a profession grappling with pipeline challenges. As demographics and stereotypes converge, leading to a decline in students pursuing accounting, the profession united to devise solutions for our shrinking talent pool. Discover how a collaborative group was established and the steps we took to create a plan to tackle this issue. I hope our experience illustrates the potential outcomes when an association unites a diverse range of stakeholders to confront the challenges we face.
Christi Jacobsen
Became Montana’s 22nd Secretary of State on January 4, 2021. Secretary Jacobsen is a native Montanan, born and raised in Helena. She and her husband raised their five children in Helena. Secretary Jacobsen was educated in Montana receiving a degree from Carroll College and a master’s degree in public administration from University of Montana.
Secretary Jacobsen has two decades of experience in leadership for state government. She has increased efficiencies in the office, cut business registration fees in half, and implemented an improved, modern, secure election management system. Montana has had record new business registration under her leadership.
